Time Zones In CyberAudit-Web
While CyberAudit-Web stores all date and time based data in Universal Time Coordinate (UTC), devices with internal clocks such as CyberKeys, Authorizers, Vault 20's, and Flex System Hubs, use local time as determined by a time zone. CyberAudit-Web uses standard time zones to determine local time and their corresponding daylight saving time rules.
CyberAudit-Web applies a time zone to these entities:
- Administrator Logins - This enables the administrator to view dates and times from the perspective of their local time.
- Communicators - Communicators use local time to set the clock in the CyberKey. the CyberKey then interprets all schedules from the perspective of its local time zone. In addition, information from CyberAudit-Web's time zone data determines the next move-ahead and move-back dates to load into the CyberKey to prepare for upcoming daylight saving time changes.
Additional Notes:
- CyberAudit-Web gets its rules for daylight saving time shifts from the Java Runtime Environment. Changes to daylight saving time rules will typically require an update to Java's reference data. Contact your CyberAudit-Web vendor if you believe an update may be needed.
- CyberAudit-Web fetches current time from its database server.
