Flex Hub: Setting up modules.

There are various modules available for the Flex system. There are modules available for only the Flex II system.

Flex I/O module can allow you to control or door or add a Wiegand-based input, such as an RFID or door sensor.

Flex Keyport This would allow you to update user CyberKeys.

RFID Modules would allow quick and easy installation of a CyberLock brand RFID Reader.

Single Key Vault stores a single CyberKey in a secure ruggedized weather-resistant vault. When used, it would program a key.

Keypad Module would allow a user to enter numerical credential information to access a door or display information.

The Flex II FlashReader is a Flex II specific module. It incorporates a keypad, RFID, Bluetooth, Proximity technology, and our Flash Technology to control access.

For most of these Modules, you connected them via a Cat 5e Ethernet cable or a Cat 6 Ethernet cable. The Flex Hub will recognize the module type and port it is connected to.

However, the system doesn't know what item you want to group together to operate doors or provide access. You must assign the module components to a group to establish the relations.

The intended controls will not work correctly if you do not establish these relationships. An example is putting a Keypad, RFID, and I/O module in the same group.

The keypad or RFID would grant access to the door. You need the Doors module to control the door and assign the items. A door could also be on a group independent of controllers and operated solely from the Cyber-Audit Web software.

Navigating to the page to set up the relationships use the top menu to select "Communicators" and choose Flex System and Hubs. You will have the list of Flex hubs available. There will be a row for Modules that, when clicked will take you to the module page for that Flex Hub.

The image below will show where to click, highlighted by the red circle.

On the Module page, you will see a column labeled "Group" this is the column to set the relationships for the hub modules. In the image below you see a keypad, an RFID reader, and the Door I/O. The Door I/O controls the door strike. The other modules are inputs for credentials to provide access to disengage the door strike.  They are set for group 1 and if we had another door to control with a different set of inputs they would be group 2.

Bear in mind a professional installer should have installed your modules. This guide is intended to help with the software portion and to help troubleshoot.

The last portion is for setting up door input/outputs. You will need the Doors module enabled. It is not enabled by default and may have an additional cost to enable.

As seen in the image above there is a gear icon next to the door and I/O module type.

It will load the I/O configuration options.

Again this section will be more for troubleshooting.

The Controls Door should be assigned. It should match the door you are working with.

Nex for the input if you have a sensor the input should be mapped to either input 1 or input 2. Generally one will be "Request-To-Exit (RTE). The output will be the light pattern for the mapped actions.

The "extend this door and I/O module" is meant for the Flex II.
