How to Set up a CyberKey

The start to finish setup for a CyberKey.

We have two ways to set up a CyberKey.

You can use an issue number or key serial.

Navigate to the "People List" and use the link in the People menu.  

Click the number next to the name of the person you want to issue a key to. Then click the plus sign to add a key.

By default, the option of using an issue number is selected.

You may need to select the proper Subsystem. Then click "OK."

You should now see the key details and can configure the properties of the key you will issue.

Add lock access and any expirations you wish to set. Take note of the issue number. You can see the example below.

 

Once all the properties are set, you can click back.

 

Launch the Cyberlink software to configure a key using a USB station. Plug an unissued key into a Keyport or the USB Station.

Plug the key into a Keyport or USB Station. Follow the prompts to update the key. If you used the issue number, you would be prompted to enter it.

When asked to remove the key, it is ready to use.

 

Manually entering a key.

You can go to "Cyberkeys" from the keys menu.

Then click the plus sign at the top right to add a key.

Enter in the Serial number and choose the Subsystem to add the key.

 

Then click "OK."

Next, you can click the Pencil mark next to "Issued to."

 

Choose from an existing person or a "New Person." Then click Save.

 

Provide the Key Details and add permission to the locks and any expiration you wish to set.

 

Then click back.

Then plug the key into a USB Station or Keyport and follow prompts to configure the CyberKey.

 

The key will be ready for use.
