Remote Door Access is enabled on the People Preferences page by checking Enable Remote Door Access.

This page enables sending a link to a person for Remote Door Access. It is accessed from the clickmenu in the People listing page. A sub-section under Doors displays Accessible Doors, Send Remote Door Access, and Reset Remote Device. remoteDoorAccessMenu.png

Permission for Remote Door Access is granted by sending a text message or an email to a selected person in CyberAudit-Web's list of people.

Steps to Send Remote Door Access
1 Ensure the person has an entry for either an email address or a mobile number.

Select Properties from the click menu for the selected person.

4 If the account has a text message service a Send Text Message checkbox will appear. It will be enabled if there is an entry in the mobile number field of people properties. Likewise, the option to send an email will be enabled if the email field has an entry. Check one or both of these options then click Send to send the Remote Door Access link. Clicking The Link in the same page executes the link to be sent. It may be used for testing. It may be necessary to reset the remote device token if that link is used for testing with the intention of using it later on the user's device.

Click Send to send the link to the selected method. This link may be used by the recipient to gain Remote Door Access to all the Doors to which they have access permissions.

What the Remote Door Access User Sees
The user will receive an email or text message like this. remoteAccessMessage.png
When they click the link, it will open a page in their browser. If their browser is not registered, the screen on the right will appear.

If a device token is mandatory, it will not go beyond this page and will instead warn them that the cookie is required.

After their device is registered with the server, they will get a list of Doors they have permission to open. The list is of all Doors including those which may currently be out of schedule. Clicking one of the Open buttons sends a request to the server to open that door. remoteAccessibleDoors.png

The user may save that link as a browser "favorite" to use whenever they wish to bring up the list of accessible doors to open.

Revoking Remote Door Access

To revoke remote door access, simply move the slider control labeled Allow remote door access for this person shown in step 4 above. This will remove permission to send open requests from a browser but will leave intact permissions they have to open the door using an RFID access card, a door access number, or any other means to open the door locally.

Resetting the Remote Device Token

Once a device is registered, the server will not allow any other device to be used with that user's link. If the user needs to change the device they use, an administrator may clear or reset the device registration so another device may be registered in its place.

To reset a user's device, click on their record in the people list and find and click on Reset Remote Device in the Doors submenu.

CyberAudit-Web will clear the stored token and return a success message. The user may now register a new device. resetRemoteDeviceSuccess.png
