Flex II Display Messages
The following is a list of messages and descriptions which may appear on a display connected to a Flex II Controller or Expander. Messages for the original Flex System hub are here.
Some messages have corresponding audit trail events which appear in the last column.

Starting | The system is starting up | |
Wait | The startup message for the Web Authorizer II Keyport | |
Busy | The system is updating records or waiting for a server response. It cannot respond to user input at this time. | |
Software Update |
The system retrieved an update from the server or from a USB drive and is now applying the update. It cannot respond to user input at this time. | |
The following messages may appear as errors to the user as a result of some action by the user. | ||
NoConfig | The Flex II Controller has no configuration from a CAW Server | |
SysError [Error Type] |
The Flex II Controller is reporting a system error | |
No Keyport |
Special key input was entered where a keyport is required in the group but no keyport is available. | |
Unknown Code |
An unrecognized Special key input code was entered. |
Messages During User Interaction

Timeout | The system timed out waiting for user input | |
PIN# | A record was found and requires a PIN to validate identity | |
Bad PIN | The PIN entered does not match the PIN on record for the identified person | |
Enter New PIN |
The user has been identified by RFID card scan or mission number and must create a new PIN. At this point 4 to 8 digits must be entered followed by the ,#,. | 538 |
Confirm New PIN |
The user has entered a new PIN and must enter the new PIN again to confirm it is correct | |
PINs not same |
The PINs entered did not match | |
Ready | The Flex System hub is idle and ready for user input but it does not have a connection to its server. | |
Ready* | The Flex System hub is idle, ready for user input, and does have a connection to its server. | |
Unknown Card |
The scanned RFID Access Card was not recognized | 533 |
Reading | The Flex II is reading the configuration from a CyberKey in a vault or keyport. | |
Download Events |
The Flex II is downloading the audit trail from a CyberKey in a vault or keyport. | |
Saving Data | Data downloaded from the key is being saved on Flex II disk. | |
Low Batt | The CyberKey in a keyport or a vault indicates a low battery. This message will appear after reading from the CyberKey or with special keypad input 66# | |
Writing | The Flex II is programming or disabling the CyberKey in a vault or keyport | |
Invalid Key |
An invalid key was inserted into a Weatherized Vault. CyberAudit-Web evaluates the key ID. If that ID is eligible to assign to the vault group, it will do so automatically and update the hub at the next opportunity. | 549 |
Unknown Key |
The CyberKey inserted in the vault or keyport is unknown to the Flex II | 547 |
Key Disabled |
A CyberKey returned from a mission has been disabled and the mission has been checked-in. Or a key has been un-issued from a person. | 554 |
Lost Key Disabled |
A lost key has been disabled. It is no longer a threat to open locks. | |
Cache Error |
The key configuration record stored on the Flex II controller was corrupted or otherwise unusable. The Flex II controller now tries to connect to the server for the key configuration. | |
Key CommFail |
Indicates an error or the Flex Hub was not able to maintain good communications with a CyberKey. Often this occurs because of contamination on the key contacts on the Vault and/or the key tips. (CyberKey Cleaning Instructions) | 557 |
Key Gone | A specific type of KeyCommFail indicating the key was removed or disconnected from the keyport during communications | 558 |
Failed | The CyberKey failed to program in a vault or keyport. | |
Too Many Locks |
The configuration for the CyberKey has a lock list with more than 3300 locks which exceeds the capacity of the key. (Note: this is possible with the Lock List Expansion SEM. | |
Issue# Mission# |
The CyberKey inserted into the KeyPort may be issued to a person or used with a mission. The user may enter the unique number followed by '#' | |
FWUpdate | The Flex II has started updating the firmware in a CyberKey. This is followed by a progressing update percentage (FW x%) | |

Displays after loading key firmware when waiting for the key to reboot. | |
FWUpdate Complete |
The Flex II successfully updated the firmware of a CyberKey. | |
FWUpdate Failed |
The Flex II failed to update the firmware of a CyberKey. | |
FW too old |
A Flex Keyport cannot update the firmware in a Generation 2 CyberKey because the firmware in the key cannot communicate with the keyport. A different communicator must be used. | |
Script xx% | The Flex II is updating the software in a Gen2 CyberKey | |
Air2Cert Missing |
The system certificate required for a CyberKey Air 2 are missing from the system | |
Air2Cert Mismatch |
The name of the system certificate required for a CyberKey Air 2 does not match the URL of the server. | |
Internal KeyError |
A Generation 2 CyberKey reported an error loading its configuration. | |
Return to Vault |
A CyberKey associated with a weatherized vault or other vault was inserted into a keyport. The message instructs the user to return the key to its vault. | 550 |
Mission in use |
The requested mission has already been checked out with another key at another vault or keyport. | 561 |
Unknown Mission |
The mission entered at a Keypad Display or Gen2 Authorizer Keyport was not recognized. | 562 |
Other Mission |
A mission was requested by a card scan or mission number but the mission has is already checked out and may not be checked out again on another key. | |
Out of Schedule |
Access was attempted to the Door or Vault(s) outside the time frames of the scheduled access for the person. |

No Vault Access |
The person assigned to the RFID access card or mission # does not have permission to use the vault | 570 |
Return Key |
Instruction to return a CyberKey to a Vault from a mission. | |
Close Vault |
Once the Flex System hub determines that the key inserted into the Weatherized Vault is valid it displays this message. | 549 |
Key Disabled |
The Flex II sent a configuration to a CyberKey to disable all access privileges. | 554 |
No Card Mission |
No mission is assigned to the scanned RFID access card. | |
Number Unknown |
The number entered was not recognized by the Flex II or CyberAudit-Web as either a valid Issue number or Mission. | 562 |
KeyReady | The CyberKey in the keyport is programmed and may be removed | 555 |
Ready Take Key |
The CyberKey in a Vault is programmed and may be removed | 555 |
Job# Login# |
A CyberLock Programmer or Grand Master was inserted into a Keyport and CyberAudit-Web is prompting to enter the programming job number or the admin number of the administrator adding or programming CyberLocks. | |
New Lock Login# |
A Grand Master automatically programmed CyberLocks unknown to the system. A LOGIN" is needed to add the locks to the system with visibility at the correct administrator node. | |
Unknown Login# |
CyberAudit-Web did not find the Login Number entered | |
New Lock Denied |
CyberAudit-Web did not permit adding lock IDs to the system. Check the permissions of the administrator associated with the LOGIN". | |
Vaults Unlocked |
Used with an RFID card or input # to open a vault to introduce or remove CyberKeys. | 563 |
Vault Closed |
The door on the Weatherized Vault has been returned to the closed and locked position. | 567 |
No Empty Vault |
There is no empty Weatherized Vault available for returning a CyberKey from a mission. | 571 |
Door Unlocked |
Access granted to door | 572 |
Close Door |
A door set to ‘Trigger event if left open longer than’ has been left open too long. | 580 |
Door is Unlocked |
An RTE input was used when the door was being held unlocked by a schedule. | 573 |
No Door Access |
A person with a known card has no permission to open a door. | 582 |
Lockdown | Access is denied because the door is being held closed on the instructions of an Inter-hub Signal | 584 |
Unknown Number |
An unrecognized Door Access number was entered at the keypad. | 587 |
Locked Man trap |
Access is denied because another door in a Man trap pair is currently open. | 596 |
Flash No Match |
A Flash Pattern was captured but was not valid for access | 535 |
No Flash Codes |
Flash Access was attempted but the Controller has not downloaded its Flash codes from the system. | |
Connect Server | The Flex System hub did not recognize the scanned RFID card, entered mission #, or inserted CyberKey and is attempting to contact CyberAudit-Web for resolution. | |
Server.. | The Flex II Controller has established connection to the server and is waiting for a response about programming a key or accessing a door. | |
Error HTTP xxx |
The Flex II received an error from the server. Contact the server administrator for details. | |
Wrong HttpResp |
The Flex II received an unexpected response from the server. This may indicate server or client software are not up-to-date. Contact the server administrator. |
