Resetting a Flex Hub

Resetting a Flex System Hub clears its networking, permissions, and audit trail data. This Hardware Reset is done with these steps:


Steps to reset a Flex II Controller

1 Download the Gen2 Communicator Reset File from this page or from the <server URL>/CyberAuditWeb/download page. Save the file to a USB drive.

Note: An administrator with Flex II edit permissions must be logged in to download this file.

2 Insert the USB drive into one of the USB ports on the Flex II Controller. Either USB port may be used.

  • The Flex II Controller hub will alternately flash its Status 1 and Status 2 LEDs.
  • When complete and successful, both Status LEDs will stay on until the USB drive is removed. The Controller hub is now reset.
  • If the Flex II Controller hub finds no configuration file on the drive but successfully writes diagnostics to the drive, the Status LEDs will flash one second on and 1/4 second off.
  • If there is an error, Status 1 and Status 2 will alternately flash Status 1 and Status 2 slowly.

Steps to reset an original Flex System hub

1 Remove power from the Flex Hub.

2 Using an Ethernet patch cable, connect one end to any of the eight numbered module connection ports.

3 Connect the other end of the patch cable to the Aux port on the other end of the Flex System Hub.

4 With the Ethernet patch cable jumpered from the two ports, restore power to the hub.

The hub typically restarts within 5 seconds. The reset is complete when the CAW LED flashes.
