The CyberKey Vault 20 FX is designed to receive primary power from a 12 volt DC, center positive, power supply transformed from 110-220V AC power. It will require 1AMP minimum. The Vault 20 FX manufacturer offers both 110V and 220V power transformers.

In addition, two backup power sources may be employed.

  • Battery - The Vault 20 FX is designed to use a HR 1221W F2 Sealed Lead-Acid battery. Battery output is 12 volts, 4 Amp/Hours. On its own without POE the fully charged battery can typically provide operational power to the Vault 20 FX for 5 hours or more with typical use. When primary power is restored, it will recharge the battery at a rate of approximately 10% of capacity. At that rate, a Vault 20 FX that has run on battery power for approximately 2½ hours will return to fully charged within 5 hours after transformer power is restored.
  • Power Over Ethernet - POE may be used as a source of trickle charge to extend the battery life while it is providing power to the Vault 20 FX. With moderate use (issuing up to 100 keys per day), and a battery in good condition POE can keep the cabinet battery charged enough to power the cabinet for several days. This is not, however, recommended as a source of power long term.

Note: Although the Vault 20 FX hub has a Molex® Mini Jr Series connector for a backup battery, that connector should not be used when the hub is installed in a Vault 20 FX because the hub does not supply power to either the main power board or the key retainer modules of the Vault.
