subsystem master list

Note: Beginning with CyberAudit-Web version 9.3, Subsystem Master Keys may no longer be created as subsystem keys. They will only appear in this list if they were created prior to that. They may instead be issued to a person. To do this, the Allow subsystem code master keys to be issued to people preference must be enabled. These subsystem masters may be further restricted by assigning a schedule or the Block Access schedule to locks in the Access Matrix.

Subsystem master keys function like access code master keys. They can open any lock that was programmed with that subsystem code. Schedules and expiration rules may be applied to subsystem master keys.

Subsystem masters created from the Subsystem Master Keys page are not directly assigned to a person and as such it does not appear in the Access Matrix where its access may be restricted. Therefore, time is the only restriction that may be placed on these subsystem master keys. If a subsystem master key is to be used on a regular basis, it is strongly recommended it be set up with a schedule and expiration. Otherwise, subsystem master keys are not bound by a schedule and pose an indefinite security risk if lost. At that point, the only remedy is to either mark the key as lost and designate disable points or to reset and program all locks that have that subsystem code with a new one.
