When a key is lost, it may be designated as lost in CyberAudit-Web. Doing so tells CyberAudit-Web to disable that key if it docks with a communicator. If the key is on an active mission, this action closes the mission and enables the owner of that mission to use the mission number to check out another CyberKey.

Lost System Key Instructions
Mark a Key as Not Lost and Reset Disabling Points

1 Find the key in the Keys window, click on its row, and choose "Properties."
2 Click the edit icon for the Lost Key section of the Properties page.

3 Select the "This key is Lost" option. Then choose which locks should be set as disabling points. By default, all locks are available to set as disabling points. Checking the box to only include accessible locks reduces the list to only the locks the key can open. When the key contacts one of these disabling locks, the key is denied access and becomes disabled for all of its access permissions.
4 Click "Save".

5 The key is now marked as lost. If it is updated at any communicator, it will be disabled. Clicking the "disabling locks" link will display the locks set to be disabling points for the key. Click the "Create Programming Job" link to create a job to update the disabling locks.
6 If the key was not already replaced, a new key may be assigned.

Additional Notes:

  • Locks can be designated as disable points for a maximum of 16 keys.
  • If a key is found again, the key may be removed from a lock's disable list. When all locks are cleared for that key, the key may be used again in the system.
  • Locks with that key in their disabling list must be reprogrammed to remove that key. Otherwise, the key will become disabled again when it touches one of those locks.
