Master keys can access any lock programmed with the access code selected from the list.
Note: Locks may be excluded from master key access by assigning a schedule in the Access Matrix. Master keys always obey the rules of a schedule before they attempt to open any lock.
Administrators may choose to use master keys because:
- Master keys are easier to create and manage when a key is to open most or all CyberLocks in the system.
- New locks are being added to the system that the key must open but it is inconvenient to add the additional permissions and update the key.
- The number of locks a CyberKey must open exceeds the lock list capacity of a given key.
