This expiration rule is sometimes called rolling expiration Since there is no set day or date for schedule expiration, the time until the next expiration is determined when the key is updated at a communicator. Every time the key is updated, the time until expiration is advanced by the interval specified in the input fields.

  • Rolling expiration by "Days" extends the key's expiration to midnight (relative to the time zone of the communicator contacted) on the day indicated by the rule. For example: update a key with a one day rolling expiration schedule and the schedule will be set to expire at midnight tomorrow.
  • A rolling expiration of "Minutes" or "Hours" cannot be selected if the master key is restricted to operating only within a schedule.
  • When selecting "Days", enter a value of 0 to expire the key at the end of the current day.
