Multi-key mode - A CyberLock setting which indicates the number of user keys that must be presented to the CyberLock before it will open.

  • Each key must be presented to the CyberLock, then the first key must be returned to open it.
  • The keys must all be presented within 16 seconds to open the lock.
  • If the first key is not returned to the lock, another key presented will start another 16 second timer after which the multi-key process may be started again.
  • The first key cannot open any other multi-key locks before it times out. The timeout starts when the key touches the lock and is 60 seconds for 2-key acccess, 90 seconds for 3-key access, and 120 seconds for 4-key access.

Open Delay - A CyberLock setting which indicates the amount of time the key will wait between contacting an authorized lock and allowing authorization to open it.

  • When the key is presented to the lock, it begins a countdown timer.
  • While that key is counting down, it may open other non-open delay locks. Contacting another open delay lock will stop the countdown for the first lock and start a new countdown.
  • After the countdown is complete, CyberKeys will beep for up to 5 minutes to indicate they are ready to open the lock. After the beeping times out, the key will no longer open the lock and the process must be started over.

Additional Notes:

  • Locks will accept either a multi-key mode or an open delay - not both.
  • Master keys bypass multi-key and open delay settings in locks.
  • A standard user key may bypass multi-key and open delay settings in locks by connecting the lock to an "Ignore multi-key access or delay settings" schedule type.
  • Neither multi-key nor delay settings are supported by CyberLock Blue.
