This mode enhances the security of multi-key mode with three changes in behavior:

  1. Only the first key may open the lock. None of the other keys may open it.
  2. Once the first key touches the lock, access to the lock will time out after one flash of the key's LED, approximately 8 seconds. The first key must return to open the lock before the timeout. Beginning with CK-IR7 firmware 16 or later, access to the lock will time out after one flash, approximately 16 seconds.
  3. The key adds additional checking to ensure that all keys in the multi-key process are used before the lock is opened.

Key behavior with enhanced security multi-key mode:

  • After the key times out, it must still serve the full 60, 90, or 120 seconds before the CyberLock will honor another transaction by the same key.
  • Until the key's LED flashes, it can also immediately open CyberLocks with a delay setting.

At the time of this writing, this feature is only supported by systems with the Advanced Security Features Module (CAW-M03) and these CyberKeys:

  • CK-IR7 CyberKeys with firmware 12 or later
  • Rechargeable CyberKeys (CK-RXD) with firmware 16 or later
  • CyberKey II (CK-RXD2) with firmware 305 or later
  • CyberKey Blue (CK-RBT) with firmware 19 or later
  • CyberKey X
  • All Generation 2 CyberKeys

Additional notes about this feature:

  • When this feature is enabled, CyberKeys will have reduced capabilities when opening locks with an open delay. Specifically they will not be able to open other CyberLocks while waiting for the countdown timer on a delay lock without canceling the countdown timer.
  • When this feature is enabled, Generation 1 user keys and CyberKey X cannot program multi-key locks.
  • Multi-key locks may not be used for temporary activation on Generation 1 CyberKeys where this feature is enabled.
  • Multi-Key Access is not supported by CyberLock Blue.
