The CyberAudit-Web server automatically backs up each active database at the beginning of each day. It writes each backup to the /var/caw-backups folder. Each file is named as follows:

<database name>-<three character day of week>-0-0-.cbk.gz

Encrypted backups have the suffix .cbe.gz rather than .cbk.gz.

The backup occurs from a shell script, backup.sh, located in /etc/cron.daily. If the backup fails and no backup file is written it is captured as an error condition and an email notification can be sent to warn of this and enable corrective action.

As with all systems, database backup files should be copied to another location in the event of a server failure.
