CyberAudit-Web is designed for large CyberLock installations comprising locks, keys, and communicators possibly numbering into the thousands. Managing such large installations with a single person would be daunting. One of the most convenient features of CyberAudit-Web is the ability to create a tree of administrator nodes. Each node allows any number of logins which are responsible for managing a given part of the system. When setting up a CyberAudit-Web system, the "TopLevel" administrator should give thought to the division of system management.
Each administrator node gets a designated set of permissions and visibility to locks and people. This means nodes may be customized for a particular purpose. For example, the administrator may add one node having permission to configure and download CyberLocks in the West Campus area, and a separate node with permission to manage personnel in the maintenance department. By default, permissions are hierarchical. A 'lower node' gets no permission that a higher node does not have. Node permissions may be made independent in Global Preferences.
Any number of logins may be created for each administrator node. This allows multiple persons to be assigned the same set of permissions. If an administrator decides that more help is needed to download all the locks in the system, they may create a new login for the node which has that permission.
In addition, a node may be designated as the head of a subsystem which also affect visibility and behavior of components like communicators, holidays, etc.
CyberAudit-Web displays administrator nodes in a collapsable tree structure in the pane to the left of most listing pages. Clicking on a different node will affect the items shown in that list. The tree may be collapsed or expanded using the buttons shown below:
